Exploratory boreholes were drilled from ground level to depths up to 180m to establish any potential geological issues along the proposed aqueduct route running from the Lake District to Southern Lancashire, Geobore S wireline core drilling was carried out from surface to establish any potential mine workings and ground stability issues.
Throughout the drilling process, we conducted packer testing and high-pressure dilatometer (HPD) testing to gather crucial data. Additionally, geophysical logging was performed, and Piezometers, vibrating wire piezometers (VWP), and standpipes were installed upon completion of the boreholes to facilitate ongoing monitoring and analysis.
